Renown for his all-rounded legal insights aired on all mainstream media houses in Kenya, is a Bachelor of Laws graduate of the University of Nairobi (Hons), with a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law. He is qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (M.ClArb), a practicing Certified Public Secretary (CPS(K)), and a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA(K)). He also trained to Higher Diploma Level with the Institute for Management of Information Systems (IMIS). He is an alumnus of Strathmore School where he was an ‘A’ student. He is currently also a Master of Laws student at the University of Nairobi.
Charles Kanjama is the Managing Partner of Muma & Kanjama Advocates and head of The Tax and Litigation Department. He is the Trust Administrator/Secretary of Strathmore Educational Trust, a brand name in quality education. He also teaches at Strathmore Business School (SBS) and Strathmore Law School (SLS) where he lectures Legal Systems, Criminal Law, Healthcare Law and Human Resource Law.
Charles is a Non-Executive Director of Pacis Insurance Co. Ltd and Convenor of its Audit Risk and Governance Committee. He also sits as a Board Member of the National Transport and Safety Authority where he chairs the Technical Committee.
He is the Vice-Chair, Kenya Christian Professionals Forum and recently served in the LSK Council as Council Member and Treasurer, besides for several years serving as Convenor of LSK’s Constitutional Implementation and Law Reform Committee. Charles has 11 years of practice experience having been called to the bar in 2003 after undertaking his articles of pupilage at Kibet and Co. Advocates. He worked as an Advocate/Associate at Ochieng’, Onyango, Kibet and Ohaga Advocates and as an Editor/Legal Manager at Law Africa Publishing Ltd. He then joined hands with Andrew Muma to establish MK Advocates in 2006.
